The Workshop on Stock Market Investing, held on 22nd February 2025, was an insightful and engaging session designed to enhance financial literacy and investment awareness among students. Hosted at the Bloomberg Lab, R&D Block, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, the event was conducted in collaboration with StockGro, Tinkrr, Finshots, and Fyers. This initiative brought together industry experts to educate students on the intricacies of stock market investing.

The workshop featured three distinguished speakers: Mr. Ketan Mittal (Senior Manager, Puma), Mr. Ashish Kumar (Growth Manager, Tinkrr), and Mr. Aditya Singh (Manager, Fyers). These professionals, with their extensive expertise in financial markets and investment strategies, provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of stock trading. Their discussions revolved around three core pillars of investment analysis—fundamental, technical, and sentimental analysis.

The session commenced with an introduction to fundamental analysis, emphasizing key financial ratios, company performance indicators, and macroeconomic factors that influence stock prices. This was followed by an in-depth discussion on technical analysis, where participants were introduced to candlestick patterns, moving averages, and trend lines to aid in market prediction. Additionally, sentimental analysis was explored, shedding light on how investor psychology, news sentiment, and market trends affect stock price movements.

To facilitate experiential learning, students were engaged in real-world case studies and live market simulations, enabling them to analyze current stock trends and develop effective risk management strategies. The session underscored the importance of data-driven decision-making and disciplined investing, equipping attendees with a structured approach to stock selection and portfolio management.

A key highlight of the workshop was the interactive trading experience, where students had the opportunity to engage with Fyers’ real-time trading platform. This hands-on exposure allowed participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a simulated trading environment, deepening their understanding of market dynamics.

Towards the conclusion of the workshop, a quiz was conducted to assess participants' comprehension of key concepts covered. The top-performing students were rewarded with exclusive access to Fyers’ trading platform, providing them with an opportunity to further explore stock trading in a real-world setting.

The workshop received an overwhelming response, with 123 students from diverse finance and commerce backgrounds actively participating. By bridging the gap between theoretical finance and practical investing, the session provided students with invaluable insights and a strong foundation to navigate the complexities of the stock market effectively.
